Turkish unemployment rate hits new highs

The unemployment rate in Turkey has hit 12.7% in December, which is an 81-month high. The youth unemployment stood at 24%, while the number of unemployed people hit a record high for the country.

Thousands have been removed from their positions due heavy-handed purges after the July 15 failed coup attempt.
