Explosion on railway track leaves train driver wounded in southeastern Turkey

Video: Kurdish PKK fighters storm a Turkish Army base

The driver of a freight train was slightly wounded on Sunday as a result of a bomb explosion on a railway track in southeastern Turkey’s Van province. The explosion occurred as the train was passing by.

Turkish security sources pointed fingers at the Kurdistan Workers Party known as PKK, although the group did not claim responsibility for the explosion.

In the past PKK has bombed railroads, pipelines and other targets it considers strategic in the mainly Kurdish southeast.
